Tropical Trivia Night – Members Only

Bummed you didn’t get to take that summer trip? Well, get your resort wear ready for trivia happy hour with NAIOP Northeast Florida! Put on that beachwear, make a tropical cocktail and join us at the virtual beach.

We’ll break out into small groups and answer trivia questions covering a variety of topics. The winning team will take home $50 per team member and we’ll also have opportunities for individuals to win $25 on all-in rounds.

We’ve provided some tropical cocktail recipes, and make sure you have a couple of your favorite shots handy as well. We will send zoom link to all attendees on the afternoon of the event.

Can’t wait to see everyone in their resort wear! Starts at 5:00 on Thursday, August 20th!  Don’t be late!

Spicy Margarita


Fine Kosher salt

Ice cubes

2 oz (good quality) Tequila

1 oz Triple sec

1/2 Lime, juiced

1/2 Tablespoon agave nectar

1/4 to 1/2 Jalapeño pepper, cut into thin, round slices  Splash of OJ, freshly squeezed

1 lime, cut into wedges (garnish)

Cilantro (optional garnish)


Rim the glass:  Pour a thin layer of salt onto a small plate. Take a lime wedge and coat the rim of a rocks glass to moisten it.  Then dip the rim of the glass in the salt, rotating until coated. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.

Make the spicy margarita with jalapeño:  Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes.  Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, agave nectar, jalapeño slices and a splash of orange juice.  Close tightly and shake vigorously until the outside of the metal shaker becomes foggy or frosty.  Strain into the iced salt rimmed glass.  Garnish with lime wedges, jalapeño slices and cilantro and serve.

Classic Mojito


6 sprig fresh mint

3 tbsp. fresh lime juice

2 tsp. superfine sugar

1 c. ice cubes

1/4 c. golden rum

1/2 c. seltzer water

lime wedge


In cocktail shaker, with wooden spoon, crush mint, lime juice, and sugar. Add ice cubes and golden rum. Shake until well blended. Fill 1 tall glass with ice cubes. Strain drink into glass and top off with seltzer. Garnish with mint sprig and lime wedge.
