Developing Leaders is hosting its third Featured Access Series at Capital Grille on Wednesday, October 13th from 5-7 PM.
Access is a quarterly educational series created by the Developing Leaders to provide young commercial real estate professionals with ACCESS to local industry knowledge and resources. Meet R. Jay Cunio, AIA, CCIM
With over 30 years of experience in real estate, architecture and construction, Jay Cunio brings a diverse background to his role as Chief Development Officer for the Jacksonville Aviation Authority. Jay received his 5-year Professional Degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech, his Master of Business Administration in Real Estate from Virginia Commonwealth University and maintains licensure in both architecture and real estate brokerage.
As Chief Development Officer, Jay is focused on fully utilizing the Authority’s assets to better serve the public and provide for a more fiscally responsible and self-sustaining enterprise. Management of the Authority’s real estate holdings and the identification of new business opportunities, specifically in the areas of land development, leasing, parking operations, concessions, and land management, are the division’s primary objectives.
Prior to joining the Authority, Jay served as Vice President of Business Development for Kenyon Energy, a national renewable energy developer and independent power producer, where he was responsible for all new market analysis, strategy and project development. Prior to transitioning to Kenyon Energy, Jay worked for the Real Estate Services Division of the Dana B. Kenyon Company where he handled all real estate brokerage and development activities for the firm. Before Kenyon, Jay served as Facilities Planning and Resource Manager for Florida Community College at Jacksonville and was responsible for the planning, budgeting and cost oversight for all capital projects for the community college system; encompassing over 3.5 million square feet, 4 campuses and 3 centers. Prior to relocating to Jacksonville with his wife and three children in 2005, Jay served 13 years as president of Greystone Properties, Inc.; a real estate brokerage and management firm in Richmond Virginia. Jay is an active member of the CCIM Institute, the Urban Land Institute and the American Institute of Architects.
