Developing Leaders host their Annual Ronald McDonald House Dinner
Ten Developing Leader members volunteered and hosted a dinner at the Ronald McDonald House on Thursday, July 10th. They served 75 people some delicious homemade Sloppy Joes, cole slaw, baked beans and dessert. Members mixed, chopped, and sautéed all fresh ingredients for the house guests to enjoy! It was a great team building experience, benefitting a great local Jacksonville charity. A huge thank you to all that came out to help to give of their time and awesome cooking talents!
Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.
